Legio Custodes: Custodian Guard Sodality

The Custodian Guard represent the elite core of the Legio Custodes, the personal guard of the Emperor of Mankind. These superhuman warriors are genetically engineered to be the ultimate defenders, each a master of combat whose abilities far surpass even the Space Marines. During the Horus Heresy, the Custodians stood as an unwavering bulwark against treachery and chaos, defending the Imperial Palace and the Lord of Mankind himself from the forces of Warmaster Horus.

Sentinel Guards are armed with sentinel warblades - masterful energy weapons capable of piercing even the heaviest armor - and praesidium shields providing superior protection without limiting offensive capabilities. Each Custodian also carries a misericordia, a ceremonial dagger used to grant mercy to defeated enemies or as a backup weapon in close combat. This combination of weaponry makes the Sentinel Guards a versatile unit capable of withstanding massive fire and then crushing the enemy in a brutal assault.

The kit allows you to build 6 Sentinel Guards with an extraordinary level of detail. Each miniature is covered in ornate engravings, filigree and iconography referencing Imperial grandeur and the millennia-old tradition of the Custodes. Modelers will appreciate the ability to build one figure as a Sentinel Vexillarius - bearing the banner with the magisterium vexilla, a symbol of honor and unity of sodality.

The set offers extensive customisation options: 13 interchangeable heads (6 with helmets and 7 with faces revealed) allow for unique warriors, 6 chocholos can be freely combined with helmets and 6 different shields provide visual variety. Additionally, each Sentinel Guard can be assembled with a Sentinel warblade or misericordia in the left hand, providing additional tactical and aesthetic options.

Designed at a scale appropriate to Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, the models are suitable for both in-game use in Legio Custodes armies and as a challenging painting project for advanced modelers. The golden armor of the Custodians, with its red detailing and ornate decoration, presents both a challenge and an opportunity for the application of advanced painting techniques.

Kit includes 125 plastic components, 6 Citadel 40mm Round Bases and assembly instructions. Models require assembly and are supplied unpainted. We recommend the use of Citadel Tools: the Super Fine Detail Cutters for accurate cutting of parts, Warhammer Colour Plastic Glue for reliable gluing and Citadel Colour for authentic painting according to the canonical Legio Custodes scheme.
