The Handley Page HP.52 Hampden B.Mk.I was a British twin-engined medium bomber that served with the RAF from 1938 and was one of the main types of Bomber Command in the early years of World War II. The aircraft's defensive armament included, among other things, a rear dorsal emplacement with a pair of Vickers K machine guns of .303 inch (7.7 mm) calibre - fast-firing aerial weapons with a cadence of approximately 1,000-1,200 rounds per minute. This arrangement was standard for the Hampden B.Mk.I from serial production and remained unchanged throughout its frontline deployment.
The 1:48 scale CMK 4514 resin add-on is designed for the ICM kit and adds a more accurately made rear machine gun emplacement to replace the plastic parts in the basic package. The kit includes a pair of Vickers K machine guns with detailed breechplates, ammunition magazines and fittings to match the historical appearance of the Hampden dorsal barbette. The CMK resin components are manufactured with an emphasis on fidelity to the model and are standard for the more experienced modeller who is familiar with resin parts processing. The package does not contain paint or adhesives.
