AK Wet Palette is a professional wet palette designed for working with acrylic paints, especially when painting figures, military models and other miniatures. Thanks to the wetting system, it keeps the paints in a liquid state for the whole time of work and after closing it can keep the paints and mixtures usable for several days. The palette is made from the same material as the waterproof containers used in the marine industry, ensuring a reliable seal and protecting the contents from drying out - especially important in summer months, hot climates or during long breaks between painting.
The wet pallet system consists of three main components: a lower cotton cloth made of natural fibres without chemical treatment serves as a moisture reservoir and keeps the special paper moist. The 40 g/m² paper is coated with a thin silicone layer that allows moisture to pass through to the paints, but prevents water from directly penetrating and dissolving the pigments. The paper does not release fibres or hairs when working with a brush, which is essential for the cleanliness of the painting. The top of the palette contains a useful compartment with compartments for mixing paints, dripping brushes or temporary storage of small accessories and brushes.
The pack contains 40 sheets of removable paper and 2 cotton sponges, so the palette is ready for immediate use. The dimensions of 23.5 × 17.5 × 2.5 cm offer ample working space without the pallet taking up excessive space on the workbench. The damp palette can be stored in the refrigerator when closed, further extending the life of paints and mixes - especially practical when working on projects lasting several days or weeks, where accurate colour shades must be maintained to complete camouflage, uniforms or details.
The wet palette was originally used mainly among figure painters, but is increasingly used by modelers of aircraft, tank and military kits where working with acrylic paints is standard and where it is important to maintain consistency of paint mixtures for large areas or repeated layers.
