IBG 1/72 Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 Over Czech Lands is a plastic kit of German Fw 190D-9 fighter in 1/72 scale. It offers a representation of the machines that operated over the Czech lands at the very end of WWII.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 "Dora" fighter entered service in 1944 as a more powerful variant of the original Fw 190. The new Junkers Jumo 213A liquid-cooled engine and redesigned nose greatly improved the flight characteristics and enabled the machine to stand up to modern Allied adversaries. The Fw 190D-9 became one of the best German fighter aircraft of the late war.
Towards the end of the war, units armed with "Dorami" were also deployed over the Czech lands, where they took part in both defensive actions against Allied bomber formations and Luftwaffe retreat operations. These machines flew until the complete collapse of Nazi Germany in May 1945 and are one of the symbols of the last battles in Central Europe.
