1/32 TBD-1 Devastator double-sided express fit mask for Trumpeter
ASK Express Fit masks for the Trumpeter TBD-1 Devastator in 1/32 scale come in a double-sided version. An EXTERIOR and an INTERIOR sheet cover the panes of the long canopy from both sides.
Both sheets are ASK's own construction, created directly for the greenhouse canopy of the Trumpeter TBD-1 Devastator kit in 1/32 scale. Set ASK 200-M32084 from the SCALE MASK range comes on two sheets. The EXTERIOR sheet with masks 1–82 matches the one-sided set 200-M32083, while sheet B, marked INTERIOR, adds masks 84–161 for the inner side of the frames. On a greenhouse canopy with dozens of separate panes, the frames stay clean both outside and in.
The Devastator carried its three-man crew – pilot, bombardier and radio operator/gunner – under one long canopy. As the US Navy's first all-metal carrier monoplane it was a big step forward in 1937, yet five years later it was obsolete. The masks are shaped for the Trumpeter kit in 1/32 scale.
