1/72 Hawk 209 light fighter (Indonesian A.F.)

The BAe Hawk is one of the most widely used and successful British subsonic jet aircraft, designed for advanced pilot training and light combat missions. The Hawk 200 version (a single-seat variant, which also includes the export model, the Hawk 209) was designed as a fully-fledged light combat and attack aircraft capable of carrying out air defence, close air support and anti-ship warfare missions. Thanks to its reliability, low operating costs and versatility, the Hawk has become a popular choice with many air forces around the world. The Indonesian Air Force has incorporated single-seat Hawk 209s into its arsenal as affordable and versatile combat aircraft suitable for defending its vast archipelagic territory.

The A&A Model kit in 1:72 scale is a glue-together model offering a rich selection of parts for detailed construction. In addition to light grey plastic sprues, it also includes a clear plastic sprue for the cockpit canopy, etched brass photo-etched parts for fine details, photo-etched films for the instrument panels, and masking film to facilitate the painting of transparent parts. Also included is a sheet of water-slide decals and a printed instruction booklet, enabling the model to be completed in a livery corresponding to that of the Indonesian Air Force.

The 1:72 scale is popular and practical for building fighter aircraft, as it combines a solid level of detail with a reasonable size for the finished model. With this type of model, it is customary to highlight the panelling, add subtle operational weathering and carefully detail the cockpit and armament to reflect intensive training and combat deployment. The pack does not contain the paints or adhesives required for assembly.
