1/48 McDonnell Douglas F-4E/2020 Terminator (Turkish Air Force) - Phantom
The Meng 1/48 McDonnell Douglas F-4E/2020 Terminator is an upgraded version of the Turkish Phantom II, which was built as part of a major upgrade of Israeli provenance. This variant combines the proven F-4E platform with modern avionics, sensors and weapons systems that have kept the aircraft combat capable well into the 21st century. The 1/48 scale kit features fine engraving, a detailed cockpit, elaborate landing gear and a selection of typicalarmour of the Turkish Air Force, enabling the creation of a faithful model of the fighter-bomber that has become an icon of the Turkish Air Force.
For decades, the McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II formed the backbone of the Turkish Air Force, and its importance grew even further thanks to the F-4E/2020 Terminator modernization program. This program was carried out in collaboration with the Israeli company IAI and aimed to extend the fleet’s service life by installing modern avionics, navigation systems, communications equipment, and weapon integrations. The aircraft received new digital cockpits, the EL/M-2032 multi-purpose radar, modern decoy launchers, improved electronic protection, and the capability to use long-range guided munitions. The result was an aircraft that combined the Phantom’s robust airframe with technologies meeting the demands of the modern battlefield.
The Meng 1/48 F-4E/2020 Terminator kit captures this late Turkish variant with a high level of detail. It features a precisely crafted cockpit with modernized instrument panels, sharp surface engraving and riveting, realistically rendered landing gear bays, and carefully designed tail and wing sections. It also includes a selection of typical Turkish Air Force armament, allowing you to build the aircraft in configurations for both air operations and strikes against ground targets.
