1/35 Pz. Kpfw. III Ausf. J w/workable track links - RFM

The Pz.Kpfw. III was one of the key German medium tanks of the first half of the Second World War and formed the backbone of the Wehrmacht’s armoured units in the early stages of the conflict. The Ausf. J was one of the most widely produced variants and introduced a number of improvements over earlier models, particularly in terms of armour protection and armament. The Pz.Kpfw. III tanks saw action on numerous battlefields, and their design was so reliable that the chassis served as the basis for further derivative types. For modellers, this version is of interest as a typical representative of the German armoured forces during the period of their greatest successes and the subsequent transition to heavier types.

The Rye Field Model kit, in 1:35 scale, is a glue-together model with a high level of detail. Its main features include functional (articulated) track links, which allow the track to run realistically over the road wheels and idler wheels, and a sophisticated torsion bar suspension system faithful to the original design. The kit also includes precision photo-etched parts, which allow for the addition of fine details that cannot be faithfully reproduced by plastic injection moulding. The kit contains four marking variants, enabling the modeller to choose from several historical versions of the vehicle.

The 1:35 scale is the most widely used for armoured vehicles and offers ample scope for detailed work as well as for subsequent steps, such as highlighting surfaces, applying decals and weathering, or placing the model in a diorama. With this type of model, realistic wear and tear, dust, mud and scuffed edges are usually applied, depending on the chosen setting and battlefield. The pack does not contain the paints or adhesives required for assembly.
