1/32 Douglas TBD-1 Devastator part 2 - Kwajalein and Wake Island Attack, February 1942
ASK 1/32 Douglas TBD-1 Devastator part 2 – Kwajalein and Wake Island Attack is a decal set for three VT-6 Devastators from USS Enterprise during the raids of February 1942.
This 1/32 ASK sheet contains Bu.No. 0294 "7" (pilot Lt R. E. Laub, gunner W. C. Humphrey) and Bu.No. 0367 "8" (pilot Ens W. W. Creamer, gunner W. F. Glenn), which took part in the bombing of Wake Island, and Bu.No. 1505 "6-T-13" (pilot Lt D. M. White, gunner J. U. Laney) from the torpedo attack on Kwajalein. The aircraft carry the early national insignia with a red centre to the star, and two of them a red-and-white striped rudder.
The raids on the Marshall Islands and Wake in February 1942 were among the first offensive operations of US carriers after Pearl Harbor. The 1/32 TBD-1 plastic kit is sold separately.
If necessary, the decal carrier varnish can be removed by washing it off with Zippo lighter fluid.
