1/72 Airspeed Envoy - 4 decal v. for Spain, Nanking, RAF
Plastic kit of aircraft from Czech producer RS MODELS designed for building gluing and painting. Paints, glue and brush are not included.
A piloted, eight-passenger, enlarged, twin-engine variant of the AS.5 Courier. First flown on June 26, 1934. About 50 were built by Airspeed for British, Japanese, Czechoslovak, Chinese, and South African civil operators, plus a small number for the South African Air Force and the RAF (SAAF Envoys carrying bombs and equipped with one forward-firing and one dorsal-turreted machine gun). Mitsubishi also built a number under license. Engines fitted to the Envoys included the Wolseley AR.9, Scorpio I, or Aries III; the Armstrong Siddeley Lynx IVC or Cheetah IX; the Wright Whirlwind R.760; and the Walter Castor II.
