1/48 P-47 D late recommended for Tamiya

The Republic P-47D Thunderbolt was one of the most important American fighter aircraft of World War II. The late version, referred to as the "late" version, was an advanced development of this type - with a more powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine reaching up to 2,600 horsepower, an improved turbocharger, and expanded armament options including eight 12.7 mm machine guns, bombs, and HVAR missiles. With its exceptional ruggedness and high-altitude performance, the "Jug," as the pilots nicknamed the P-47, earned a reputation as a reliable machine capable of surviving even heavy damage. Late D variants were deployed both in Europe on escort missions for heavy bombers and in attacks on ground targets - and it was in the role of attack aircraft that they proved particularly effective.
