1/48 P-47 D early recommended for Tamiya
Yahu Model YMA4815 is a set of etched 1:48 scale dashboards for Tamiya Republic P-47D Thunderbolt kit (early "razorback" version). The parts are pre-coloured and ready for direct fitting into the kit without the need for further painting of the instruments (JustStick technology). The kit is designed exclusively for Tamiya kits.
The early Republic P-47D Thunderbolt, with its characteristic high fuselage crest and razorback cockpit overlay, was one of the USAAF's most important fighter aircraft in the first half of World War II. The cockpit of this machine was equipped with the standard American instrumentation for a high-altitude fighter powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 turbocharged radial engine - a neatly arranged set of alarms, altimeters, airspeed indicators and engine instruments, the colour coding of which facilitated orientation even for less experienced pilots.
Designed to fit the Tamiya P-47D Thunderbolt (early version), the Yahu Model YMA4815 1:48 scale etched parts set offers a significant improvement in cockpit detail over the original plastic parts. The instrument panels are made of nickel-plated brass foil with laser etching and are pre-printed in colour using JustStick technology - so the parts can be cut out and fitted directly into the kit without the need to hand-paint individual instruments. The result is a faithful-looking cockpit with legible dials and a realistic look that modelers who focus on detailed interiors will especially appreciate.
