1/48 Mirage F.1 CR recommended for Kitty Hawk
YahuModel 1/48 Mirage F.1CT/CR is a photo-etched cockpit dashboard with colour printing, designed for Kitty Hawk Models and Zimi Model 1:48 scale kits. It reproduces in detail the cockpit instrumentation of the French tactical aircraft Dassault Mirage F.1 in CT (attack) and CR (reconnaissance) variants. The package does not contain paint or glue.
The Dassault Mirage F.1 entered service with the French Air Force (Armée de l'Air) in 1973 as the successor to the Mirage III family. Unlike its delta-winged predecessors, it featured a conventional arrow wing and was powered by a SNECMA Atar 9K-50 engine. The F.1CT variant was created by upgrading older F.1C-200s for the role of direct air support and tactical strike - thus replacing the Mirage IIIE. It was equipped with an upgraded Cyrano IVM radar and extended armament including Exocet anti-ship missiles. The F.1CR variant then fulfilled the role of tactical reconnaissance as a successor to the Mirage IIIR - carrying reconnaissance containers and sensors for intelligence gathering. Both variants actively participated in operations in Chad, the Gulf, Libya and Mali and left French service in July 2014.
The YahuModel's 1:48 scale photo-etched dashboard is made of brass sheet with accurate colour printing that faithfully replicates the actual Mirage F.1CT/CR cabin instruments and controls - including altimeter, speedometer, horizon, radar display and other distinctive dashboard features. The colour scheme eliminates the need for intricate hand painting of small details. Designed as a direct replacement for the plastic parts in the Kitty Hawk Models and Zimi Model kits, the add-on fits the exact cockpit shapes of these kits without the need for major modifications. The package does not contain paint or glue.
