1/48 Junkers F13. Mid Prod. Military Service

The Junkers F13 made aviation history as one of the world's first all-metal transport aircraft. It first flew in 1919 and its design represented a revolutionary departure from the wooden and canvas structures common at the time. The metal fuselage, with its characteristic corrugated finish, provided exceptional strength at a relatively low weight and allowed operation in harsh climatic conditions - from the hot deserts to the freezing regions of Scandinavia and Siberia. The F13 was first used as a civilian transport aircraft to carry mail and passengers, but soon gained the trust of military users as well. The armies of various nations used it for communications flights, transporting light cargo, evacuating the wounded or training crews. Its versatility and reliability made it one of the most successful aircraft of the interwar period, with over 300 produced and operated by dozens of countries on every continent.

The Mid Production version represents a development stage where the design has already been proven in practice and the manufacturer has incorporated minor modifications resulting from operational experience. The military version differed from the civilian version mainly in terms of equipment, possibly mounting points for light armament or photographic equipment, while the basic design remained unchanged. For modellers, the F13 is interesting precisely because of its combination of historical significance and distinctive appearance - the corrugated surface requires attention in painting and highlighting the structure, but the resulting effect is unmistakable.

The 1:48 scale kit offers ample scope for detailed cockpit and surface detail. Decals for the 4 variants allow the model to be built in different national designs corresponding to the actual users of this type. The package does not include the paints or glues needed for assembly.
