1/48 A6M2 [Nakajima Green] recommended for Tamyia

The dashboard of the A6M2 Zero was not the same in all machines - and this seemingly small detail is crucial for historically faithful models. Aircraft produced by the Nakajima plant (especially those from the Ota factory) had their dashboards painted dark green, while the Mitsubishi machines carried grey dashboards. The difference stemmed from the different manufacturing processes and supply chains of the two plants, with Nakajima using specific primers and varnishes that conditioned the resulting green colour. This fact is confirmed by both the surviving wreckage and post-war restoration work - for example, on a specimen housed at the US National Air and Space Museum (NASM).
