1/35 M28 A1/A2 Super Assault Tank

The American T28 super-heavy tank, on which this model kit is based, was one of the most massive armoured vehicles developed by the United States during the Second World War. It was designed as a specialised breakthrough vehicle intended to breach heavily fortified defensive lines, such as the German Siegfried Line. This was reflected in its extremely thick frontal armour and distinctive configuration with four track units, where the outer sections of the tracks were removable to facilitate the vehicle’s transport. However, the war ended before the T28 saw combat, and the project remained at the prototype stage. The M28A1/A2 variant is a hypothetical ‘what-if’ modernisation — it imagines what the vehicle might have looked like had it been standardised and further developed after the war. For modellers, it offers an appealing combination of a real historical basis with scope for imagination and alternative history.

The 1:35 scale kit offers detailed construction with a range of features to achieve a realistic result. The hatches can be assembled in both the open and closed positions, allowing you to display the interior or fit the vehicle with figures. The suspension and road wheels are movable, enabling the model to be faithfully positioned even on uneven diorama terrain. The kit includes photo-etched parts for fine detail, transparent parts and metal gun barrels, which enhance the accuracy and durability of the finished model. In the hypothetical M28A1/A2 variant, heavier armament is envisaged, such as the 120mm T53 gun or the 155mm T7 gun. Four marking variants are available, expanding the options when choosing a specific version and colour scheme.

The 1:35 scale is the most common among collectors and modellers of military equipment and allows for meticulous attention to detail as well as realistic painting and weathering. The main features of this type of vehicle are its large armoured surfaces, welds and massive track assembly. Emphasis should be placed on highlighting the armour texture, operational grime, dust, mud and edge wear consistent with heavy off-road use.
