1/35 French FT T.S.F. Radio Version
Meng 1/35 French FT T.S.F. Radio Version is a plastic kit of a special communication variant of the famous French tank Renault FT from WWI. The T.S.F. version was equipped with a radio station and did not carry a gun or machine gun - it served as a mobile command and communications post for coordinating units in the field. The kit offers detailed surface treatment, a precisely executed unarmoured turret, realistic interior radio equipment and the distinctive design features of one of the most influential tanks of its time.
The Renault FT is considered a pioneer of the modern tank concept—with a rotating turret, a rear-mounted engine, and a separate driver’s compartment. This light tank had a profound influence on the development of armored vehicles after World War I. In addition to combat versions, several specialized variants were also produced, including the T.S.F. (Télégraphie Sans Fil), equipped with a radio instead of armament. These tanks were deployed as liaison and command vehicles, ensuring communication between advancing units and their command—a crucial element for coordinating operations during the dynamic phases of combat in 1917–1918 as well as in the interwar period.
The Meng 1/35 French FT T.S.F. kit captures this rare and technically interesting variant with a high level of detail. It features a finely rendered armor surface, a precisely crafted hull, and the characteristic unarmed turret. The kit also includes realistically rendered radio equipment and interior components, allowing you to create an authentic miniature of this historic communications tank. The model faithfully captures the design of the iconic FT and is ideal for both World War I enthusiasts and collectors of unique armored vehicles.
The package does not include the paints or adhesives needed for assembly.
