With a fraction of 0.1-0.6 mm you get an authentic, bright yellow shade, characteristic of extremely dry soils and desert sands. Your model will now look like it is wading through dust that is so dry it will pull the moisture out of even your modeling soul.

This texture is the perfect choice for dusty scenes: rendering fine sand dunes, dry riverbeds or ruined fields in a sweltering summer. Its fine grain makes it suitable for all scales and serves as a great canvas for further patination techniques - you can apply pigments or airbrush shading for spectacular visual results.

Important desert lesson (Anchoring is survival): these fine desert crystals are loose and, although they look stable in photographs, they need to be anchored. To create a solid and permanent terrain that retains its matte finish, the use of a fixing medium is key. Simply pour, shape the terrain and then carefully saturate with a suitable capillary adhesive. This will ensure that even the finest dust stays where it should, and your scene is protected from accidental blowouts!
