The Messerschmitt Bf 110G-4 was a night fighter version of the Luftwaffe's twin-engined heavy fighter, developed in response to the intense night raids by the Allies during 1943-1945. The G-4 version was equipped with on-board radar (e.g. FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2), more powerful engines and the characteristic "hedgehog" antennae on the nose. The aircraft served mainly in Nachtjagdgeschwader units and was often fitted with additional armament for close combat.
