1/72 KTO Rosomak "The Green Devil"

The KTO Rosomak, fully named Kołowy Transporter Opancerzony Rosomak, is one of the most famous modern armoured vehicles of the Polish Army. The design is based on the Finnish Patria AMV, which was licensed and further modified for Polish needs. The Rosomak entered the Polish arsenal at the beginning of the 21st century and quickly became an important part of mechanised units. The eight-wheeled chassis provided good terrain clearance and high mobility on the road, while the armoured hull protected the crew and airborne troops against shrapnel, small arms and, depending on the version, mines and improvised explosive devices.

A significant chapter of the Rosomaks' service was deployment in Afghanistan as part of the Polish military contingent. It was here that the vehicle gained an extraordinary reputation among Polish soldiers and the enemy. The armed variants with Hitfist-30P turret and 30 mm cannon provided the troops with substantial fire support during patrols, convoy escort and combat operations. The combination of speed, armour protection and armament proved its value in the challenging Afghan conditions. The nickname "The Green Devil" refers to the respect the Wolverines earned during these missions.

The 1:72 scale IBG 72135 kit is an attractive model of modern Polish military equipment. The compact scale makes it suitable for both stand-alone display work and smaller scenes from a foreign mission environment, for example with dusty service wear, equipment on the hull or fine patination appropriate for service in difficult terrain. The Rosomak is also an interesting subject because it is not an anonymous modern armoured vehicle, but a vehicle with a clear service history and strong links to the Polish armed forces. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
