With more than 52,000 units produced between 1941 and 1945, the three-metric-ton Bedford QL truck was one of the most numerous British vehicles of World War II. The QL, designed either as a multipurpose truck or as a troop carrier, was powered by a 3.5-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine producing 72 koní, which allowed it to reach a top speed of 61 km/h. Thanks to its high ground clearance, off-road tires, and a four-speed transmission delivering power to all four wheels—located in the center of the chassis (with a total of 8 forward gears)— the QL boasted excellent off-road maneuverability. Many enthusiasts still use these vehicles today.
