1/72 Blenheim Mk.I
The KPM Vintage 1/72 Blenheim Mk.I is an early version of the British twin-engine light bomber, which was one of the main RAF types for reconnaissance and bombing operations at the beginning of World War II. The Blenheim Mk.I featured modern all-metal construction and a speed that was among the highest in the category in the mid-1930s. The vintage edition kit brings the classic shapes and distinctive proportions of this important machine to life.
The Bristol Blenheim Mk.I was built in the early 1930s as one of the first modern British all-metal bombers with retractable landing gear and an enclosed cabin. At the time of its introduction into service, it was one of the RAF's fastest aircraft, making it used not only as a light bomber but also as a reconnaissance machine. With the start of the Second World War, the Mk.I formed an important part of the British Air Force, although its performance quickly became obsolete in the face of more modern German fighters. Nevertheless, it played a significant role in the early months of the conflict, taking part in operations over Europe and the Mediterranean.
The Kovozávody Prostějov kit in the Vintage edition faithfully captures the characteristic rounded shapes of the Blenheim Mk.I, its slender fuselage, glass nose and typical wing proportions. It offers classic model construction with clearly defined parts and typical elements of this early generation of RAF bombers. The simple build makes the model suitable as an introduction to the world of historic twin-engined aircraft, while the authentic shapes will delight even experienced builders looking for an early war example.
