Meng 1/48 U.S. Short-range Air-to-air Missiles is a 1/48th scale add-on set containing detailed short-range short-range air-to-air missiles that have become standard issue on U.S. fighter and multirole aircraft. The kit allows you to add authentic armament to your model and increase its realism and level of detail.
Short-range air-to-air missiles have been a staple of American fighter aircraft since the 1950s, when the famous AIM-9 Sidewinder appeared. These missiles, with their infrared guidance and maneuverability, have become an indispensable means of close air combat and have been deployed in many Cold War and modern conflicts.
The Meng kit features 1/48th scale, carefully modelled missiles with realistic shapes of the guidance head, nose surfaces and nozzles. Their versatility makes them suitable for a wide range of US aircraft, from the classic F-4 Phantom II and F-15 Eagle to the F-16 Fighting Falcon and F/A-18 Hornet. By installing these missiles, it is easy to give the model a true "combat" look without the need for complex modifications to the basic kit.
The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
