1/48 F-4E Late PHANTOM II

The McDonnell Douglas F-4E represented the pinnacle of development for the classic versions of the Phantom II. Unlike its predecessors, it was equipped with a built-in M61A1 Vulcan six-barrel cannon, an upgraded AN/APQ-120 radar, a newm fire control system and the ability to carry a wide range of precision-guided munitions. "Late" versions of the F-4E Late included improved avionics, a strengthened wing, and a more powerfulGeneral Electric J79-GE-17 engines, which provided greater reliability and maneuverability.

The F-4E Late became the backbone of the U.S. Air Force in the 1970s and 1980s, participating in combat in Vietnam, the Middle East and the Cold War. Its versatility has made it a proven fighter escort, attack aircraft and training platform. It remained in service in many countries, including Greece, Turkey and Israel, long after it was retired from the USAF. The annual "30 Years of Fabulous Service" designation symbolizes his long and successful career in American colors.
