1/32 I-16 late recommended for ICM / Special Hobby
Yahu Models 1/32 I-16 late is a set of photo-etched dashboards for Polikarpov I-16 type 24 in 1:32 scale, designed for ICM and Special Hobby kits. The boards are color printed and ready for direct gluing (JustStick technology). Also compatible with Azure, Hasegawa and Revell kits. The package does not include the aircraft kit itself.
The Polikarpov I-16 was one of the pioneers of modern fighter aviation - it was one of the firstfirst mass-produced single-seat fighters with closed cockpit and retractable landing gear. It entered service in the mid-1930s and quickly became a symbol of Soviet aviation in pre-war conflicts and in the early days of the Great Patriotic War. The Type 24, also referred to as the late-series I-16, was a more advanced variant with a more powerful M-63 engine and strongerarmament, which included two 7.62 mm synchronized machine guns and two 20 mm wing guns. This configuration made it a serious adversary in close-range combat, although it lacked the speed and high-altitude power of the newer types. The I-16 fought alongside the Republicans in Spain, over China against the Japanese invasion force, and later on all over the world.on all fronts of the Soviet-German War, where it gradually gave way to more modern machines, but remained in service until 1943.
For modelers, the I-16 Type 24 is an attractive model because of its characteristic wavy shape, varied color schemes (from shcamouflage to Chinese markings to Soviet winter and summer paint schemes) and a rich deployment history. The I-16's dashboard is one of the places where the detail of the model can be greatly enhanced - the original plastic parts tend to be flat and without color differentiation, while the photo-etched replacements offer embossing, fine engraving and realistic color tones for dials, levers and controls.
Yahu Models 1:32 is designed for the late I-16 (Type 24) and uses JustStick technology, which means the plates are already color-printed and self-adhesive coated - just detach them from the base and glue them in place in the kit. There is therefore no need to use special photo adhesives or to paint the individual devices afterwards. The kit is primarily intended for ICM and Special Hobby kits, but the manufacturer states compatibility with other brands (Azure, Hasegawa, Revell), which expands the possibilities of use. The package does not include the aircraft kit itself - it is a supplementary detail set.
