1/32 I-153 Chaika recommended for ICM

The Polikarpov I-153 "Chaika" (Seagull) was a Soviet fighter aircraft with a distinctive biplane configuration and retractable landing gear, which represented an attempt to modernize the proven I-15 concept. Although it was one of the most advanced fighters of the Soviet Air Force at the time of its deployment in the late 1930s, rapid technological developments soon overtook it and during the 2nd half of the 20th century it was used as a fighter. World War II, it served primarily in a support role, as a light bomber or reconnaissance machine. For modelers, the I-153 is interesting for its unusual combination of a classic biplane with modern features such as retractable and the typical Soviet operational character of a rugged design and simple equipment.
