1/72 Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4/7 ‘Staffelkapitäne’
1/72 scale kit of the legendary German fighter aircraft Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4/7 "Staffelkapitäne" by Special Hobby. Limited edition with detailed workmanship, fine negative engraving and high quality decals for the machines of famous Luftwaffe squadron commanders. A great choice for anyone looking to add a WWII classic to their collection.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is one of the most famous and important fighter aircraft of World War II. The E (Emil) variant was deployed during the Battle of Britain and represented the pinnacle of development of the pre-war versions. The E-4 and E-7 versions had improved cabin armour, new armament with two MG FF/M guns in the wings and two MG 17 machine guns above the engine. In addition, the E-7 model was able to carry an additional fuel tank, which significantly extended the range.
These machines were piloted by many famous "Staffelkapitäne" - Luftwaffe squadron commanders - such as Adolf Galland, Helmut Wick or Hans-Joachim Marseille. The Bf 109E became a symbol of the German Air Force at the beginning of the war and a key rival to the British Spitfires and Hurricanes.
