1/32 Bachem Ba 349 A/V Natter
Fly 1/32 Bachem Ba 349 A/V Natter is a 1/32 scale plastic kit of German missile interceptor aircraft from the end of WWII. This experimental machine was intended to serve as a highly effective means of defense against Allied bomber formations, but it saw only limited combat.
The German Bachem Ba 349 Natter rocket plane is one of the most daring and bizarre projects of the end of World War II. It was a vertical take-off interceptor, powered by a Walter HWK 109-509 rocket engine, designed for rapid ascent against heavy bombers. The armament consisted of several air-to-air missiles, which the pilot was to fire directly into a cluster of enemy aircraft. After completing the mission, the pilot was to drop the cockpit on a parachute while the rest of the machine was lost.
The Ba 349 A/V version was a test and pre-production variant on which tests were conducted in 1944 and 1945. The project virtually never made it into operational use, yet it became a symbol of Nazi Germany's desperate efforts to develop "miracle weapons".
The 1/32nd scale Fly Model kit provides a detailed treatment of this unique machine, including realistic surfaces and distinctive design features. With its unusual appearance and historical context, the model is an attractive addition to the collection of anyone interested in experimental and special WWII aircraft.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
