According to Tamiya, smoothing painted surfaces or clear parts with 87200 beforehand shortens the subsequent polishing with compound. The polyester backing with fine abrasive avoids coarse scratches, and the film can be cut to size and used for wet sanding.
Grit #8000 is very fine and used for final smoothing, after which the surface needs only a brief polish. The film is pink. Three 93 × 228 mm films are included.
