The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc was created in response to the introduction of the German Fw 190 in 1941. Thanks to the installation of the Rolls-Royce Merlin 61 engine, it became one of the most successful versions of the Spitfire, and from 1942 until the end of the war it was one of the backbone of the British Royal Air Force (RAF). The "c" version carried a versatile wing that allowed the fitting of various combinations of armament, usually 2 20mm guns and 4 7.7mm machine guns.

The "Flying Dray" machine presents a particular camouflage that approximates the atmosphere of Allied air operations over occupied Europe. The Mk.IXc Spitfires took part not only in fighter missions, but also in escorting bombers and attacking ground targets, making them a versatile and highly prized type.

The 1/24 scale Airfix kit is one of the large scale models which, thanks to its size, allows to represent even the finest details of the construction. It includes a richly detailed cockpit interior, engine compartment, landing gear shafts and detailed fuselage and wing surfaces. This model is intended for experienced modelers who want to add one of the icons of WWII to their collection in an extremely impressive design.

The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
