Spitfire Mk.Vb early 1/72

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V was created in response to the emergence of the German Bf 109F, when it was necessary to increase the performance of existing Spitfires without major design modifications. With the installation of the Merlin 45 engine, the Mk.V version was born, which became the most numerous Spitfire range in 1941-1942. The Mk.Vb variant used a 'b' wing with two 20mm Hispano guns and four Browning machine guns, which greatly increased firepower while maintaining excellent manoeuvrability. These machines served with many RAF squadrons in the UK, escorted bombers on cross-Channel raids, fought in North Africa and played a vital role in the defence of Malta.
