Avia S-199 bubble canopy 1/48

The Avia S-199 was developed immediately after World War II as a Czechoslovak post-war adaptation of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter aircraft. Due to a shortage of the original DB 605 engines, the aircraft was fitted with a Junkers Jumo 211 engine, originally intended for bombers, resulting in poor flight characteristics and difficult handling. Despite this, the Avia S-199 became an important transition type for the Czechoslovak Air Force and also played a significant role in the emergence of the Israeli Air Force in the late 1940s. The "bubble canopy" variant improved the pilot's view and was one of the later modifications of this problematic but historically interesting machine.

The Eduard 1/48 scale kit in the HYBRID edition offers a combination of high quality plastic parts with an extensive set of resin components. Included are detailed resin cockpit, landing gear shafts, exhausts, gun barrels, antennas, air intakes and complete chassis, which greatly enhance the overall realism of the model. There are also masks for easy cockpit treatment and Eduard decals for six camouflage schemes. Thanks to this combination, the kit is intended primarily for more experienced modellers who will appreciate high level of detail and the opportunity to build a very faithful miniature of one of the most talked about post-war fighter aircraft.
