AK Interactive AK8256 Small Railroad Ballast
AK Interactive AK8256 Small Railroad Ballast is fine natural gravel for railroad ballast, designed to realistically depict the effect of a railroad ballast bed in 1:72 and H0 scales ; it can also be used for scales 28mm and larger. The material is applied using white glue or AK118 fixative.
AK Interactive AK8256 Small Railroad Ballast
AK Interactive AK8256 Small Railroad Ballast is a natural loose material designed for railroad tracks, embankments, track edges, industrial scenes, and fine stony surfaces. The fine grain size is particularly suitable for railroad scenes in 1:72 and H0 scales.
Recommended Procedure
- First, prepare the terrain shape and paint the base in a complementary shade. This will ensure that any gaps between the grains are not noticeable once dry.
- Apply white glue, diluted white glue, or AK118 to the selected area. For larger rocks, work in smaller sections.
- Sprinkle the material irregularly and press it down lightly. After it dries, brush off or vacuum up any excess.
- Once cured, you can even out the surface with pigment, a wash, a dry brush, or very thin acrylic paint.
