AK12003 Plastic Cement Standard Density (40 ml) is a classic model-making cement with standard viscosity and a medium drying time. It is designed for contact bonding of polystyrene parts, larger bonding surfaces, and general assembly where the adhesive must be applied before joining the parts.
The solvent softens the plastic bonding surfaces and, after evaporation, forms a strong bond. The higher viscosity limits uncontrolled runoff, but the cement must be applied sparingly. It is not intended for use on resin, metal, photo-etched parts, or clear parts.
Recommended Procedure
- Clean the mating surfaces and check their fit without adhesive.
- Apply a thin layer to one mating surface using a brush.
- Join the parts, position them precisely, and secure them.
- Do not spread the excess adhesive over the surface, and allow the joint to cure before further processing.
For capillary bonding of pre-assembled parts, use AK12002 Extra Thin Cement or the faster-curing AK12001 Quick Cement Extra Thin.
