AK12002 Extra Thin Cement (40 ml) is an extra-thin cement for general assembly of plastic models. It flows by capillary action between the polystyrene parts and dries at a moderate rate.
AK12002 Extra Thin Cement (40 ml) is a versatile, extra-thin cement for assembling plastic models. It has a balanced viscosity and dries at a moderate rate, providing more time to work than the fast-drying AK12001 variant, yet it still flows comfortably into the joint via capillary action.
The cement is applied to polystyrene parts that have already been placed together. The solvent briefly softens the contact surfaces and, after evaporating, forms a strong bond. It is not intended for use with resin, metal, photo-etched parts, or clear parts.
Recommended Procedure
- Clean the parts to be joined, dry-fit them, and hold them together.
- Using a fine brush, apply a small amount to the edge of the joint.
- Allow the cement to flow through the joint by capillary action; do not apply it to the surrounding surface.
- Secure the joined parts and allow them to cure thoroughly before sanding.
For the fastest bond, use AK12001 Quick Cement Extra Thin; for larger areas and contact bonding, choose AK12003 Plastic Cement Standard Density.
