1/72 Curtiss Mohawk IV over Egypt and Burma 1941-1943
ASK 1/72 Curtiss Mohawk IV is a decal sheet for four aircraft from 1941–1943: two Mohawks of No. 3 Squadron SAAF from the East African campaign and two No. 155 Squadron RAF machines from Burma.
This 1/72 ASK decal sheet offers four marking options for the Curtiss Mohawk IV fighter. 2537 (A-Flight) and 2524 belonged to No. 3 Squadron, South African Air Force, at Alomata airfield during the East African campaign in 1941. BS736, lettered P, and BS734, lettered A and flown by F/O Tim Mayers, served with No. 155 Squadron RAF at Imphal, Burma, in 1943; they carry South-East Asia roundels without the red centre and yellow wing leading edges.
Mohawk was the British name for the export version of the Curtiss Hawk 75 (P-36) fighter. The SAAF flew it in East Africa, while No. 155 Squadron RAF used it from autumn 1942 to January 1944 for reconnaissance, ground attack and bomber escort over Burma.
