1/48 Spitfire Mk.I - Control Surfaces for Airfix

CMK Spitfire Mk.I – Control Surfaces for Airfix is a 1:48-scale resin set of control surfaces designed for the Airfix Spitfire Mk.I plastic model.

What the kit addresses

It replaces the kit’s control surfaces with separate parts that can be positioned individually.

Recommended procedure

1. Before separating the parts, compare the resin parts with the assembly instructions and dry-fit them to verify their positions.
2. Remove the mold sprues gradually using a fine-toothed saw or by sanding. When sanding the resin, work with water and avoid inhaling the resulting dust.
3. Degrease the parts, let them dry, and glue them together using cyanoacrylate or two-part epoxy adhesive; standard polystyrene glue will not bond the resin.
4. Before painting, apply a suitable primer and then proceed with paints corresponding to the chosen reference model.

Note: The basic plastic model kit is not included in the package. For assembly, refer to adhesives suitable for resin, and for finishing, use model paints and primers.
