1/48 F4F-3 Wildcat double-sided express mask for Eduard
ASK masks from the Express range for the Eduard F4F-3 Wildcat plastic kit in 1/48 scale are double-sided. EXTERIOR and INTERIOR sections cover the canopy panes inside and out, the WHEELS section four wheels.
The set is an ASK original, developed specifically for the 1/48 F4F-3 Wildcat kit from Eduard. Set ASK 200-M48077 from the SCALE MASK range contains an EXTERIOR section with masks 1–17 and the small masks 35 and 36 for the outer side of the windscreen and canopy, an INTERIOR section with masks 18–36 for the inner side of the frames, and a WHEELS section with four circular wheel masks. The one-sided version is 200-M48076.
The Grumman F4F Wildcat bore the brunt of US Navy carrier fighter combat in the first year of the Pacific War. The wings of the F4F-3 did not yet fold; folding wings and six machine guns came only with the F4F-4. The mask shapes follow the clear parts of the Eduard F4F-3 Wildcat kit in 1/48 scale.
