The P-40E Warhawk was the first production version of the famous American P-40 fighter aircraft, equipped with the Allison V-1710 F-series engine. In the colours of the US Army Air Forces, it was deployed mainly in the Chinese, Indian and Pacific theatres, while the Allied Air Forces operated it under the designation Kittyhawk Mk.IA. One of the lesser known, but extremely challenging front areas where these machines served was the Aleutian Islands. Here, both American P-40Es and Canadian Kittyhawks had to face not only the Japanese enemy, but also harsh climatic conditions that required specific modifications. The American machines had fogged exhausts and covered barrels, while the Canadian machines had special antenna systems.
This 1/72nd scale Special Hobby kit features finely detailed plastic parts, clear parts, alternative 3D silentand antennae, and decals for four attractive machines - two American with tiger heads and two Canadian with shark mouths. Designed for ease of construction while maintaining a high level of detail and accuracy, this is one of the best P-40E models available in this scale.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
