1/72 MiG-21F-13/S-106 "Vodochody Plant" - KPM0502 Kovozávody
MiG-21F-13/S-106 "Vodochody Plant" in 1/72 scale by Kovozávod Prostějov depicts the licensed Czechoslovak version of the legendary Soviet fighter aircraft, produced at the Aero Vodochody plant. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The MiG-21F-13 was the first mass-produced version of the famous Soviet MiG-21 fighter aircraft with a characteristic delta wing and a simple air inlet in the nose. This aircraft became one of the most iconic jet fighters of the Cold War, deployed in many countries around the world. Czechoslovakia obtained a licence to produce it and a total of 194 units were assembled at Aero Vodochody between 1963 and 1964 under the domestic designation S-106.
These machines formed the backbone of the Czechoslovak fighter aviation in the 1960s and contributed significantly to the modernisation of the armament of the then Air Force. Unlike later versions, the MiG-21F-13 had simpler avionics and armament, but its performance and aerodynamics made it popular with pilots.
The 1/72 scale kit from Kovozávod Prostějov offers a detailed model of the Czechoslovak version of the S-106, produced in Vodochody. The model is accurately rendered, with fine negative engraving and offers a choice of several Czechoslovak Air Force camouflage schemes. Suitable for all those interested in the history of domestic production of military aviation equipment.
The package does not include the paints or adhesives needed for assembly.
