1/72 Hobby 2000 72082 F-4K Phantom FG.1 Late vol.2
The 1/72nd scale model of the Hobby 2000 F-4K Phantom FG.1 Late vol.2 represents the British naval version of the iconic Phantom with improved armament and more powerful engines. The FG.1 version served in both the Royal Navy and RAF and was a key element of defence during the Cold War. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4K Phantom FG.1 was a specially modified Phantom II for the British Royal Navy and later the Royal Air Force. Unlike the American versions, it was fitted with Rolls-Royce Spey engines, and had modified landing gear and bracing for operation from smaller British aircraft carriers. These modifications gave it better acceleration when taking off from short decks and adaptation to British standards.
The FG.1 was deployed both aboard HMS Ark Royal and at RAF air bases, where it served as an ambush fighter and carried a wide range of armament including rockets and bombs. The aircraft were part of the NATO defence structure during the Cold War and regularly took part in exercises and patrols in the North Sea area.
This 1/72nd scale kit from Hobby 2000 features plastic parts from Hasegawa and high quality decals from Cartograf, this time in a set marked Late vol.2, which offers alternative markings and camouflage. The model excels in the accuracy and detailing capabilities of the iconic aircraft. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
