1/72 HH-53C "Jolly Green Giant"

The Sikorsky HH-53C "Jolly Green Giant" was one of the heaviest and most powerful helicopters of the US Air Force of its time. Built as an improved version of the original CH-53 Sea Stallion, the HH-53C variant was specially modified for demanding rescue missions in combat conditions. The name "Jolly Green Giant" referred to the machine's distinctive camouflaged green color and large size - a helicopterk was capable of carrying crew, rescue equipment, and fuel for long missions while providing protection with on-board machine guns. In practice, the HH-53C became particularly famous during the Vietnam War, where rescue units (pararescue) recovered downed pilots from enemy territory, often under extremely dangerous circumstances. The machine was equipped with auxiliary tanks, in-flight refuelling system, armour and advanced navigation for night flights. After the Vietnam War, the HH-53C continued to serve in other Cold War operations and was gradually replaced by more modern types such as the MH-53 Pave Low.

A typical paint scheme includes a dark green camouflage paint with weathering, fading and soiling consistent with heavy use in a tropical environment. The package does not include the paint or adhesives required for assembly.
