1/72 F-15E Strike Eagle

The McDonnell Douglas (later Boeing) F-15E Strike Eagle is a two-seat multirole variant of the legendary fighterF-15 aircraft, developed specifically for ground force air support and precision bombing roles. While the original F-15 was designed solely as a fighter to gain air superiority, the E version brought a major change in concept - combining air combat capability with the ability to carry a wide range of precision-guided and conventional bombs and missiles. It entered service in 1988 and quickly became one of the US Air Force's most effective multi-role aircraft. The F-15E has proven itself in a number of conflicts, including Operation Desert Storm (1991), combat in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq, where it has demonstrated the ability to operate in all weather and challenging conditions. The Strike Eagle provides an attractive template for modellers due to its robust silhouette, rich weapons system and varied colour schemes from different operations.

Italeri's 1:72 scale kit offers the opportunity to build the model in four different versions, allowing you to choose a specific machine based on historical interest or preferred colour scheme. Decals for the 4 versions typically include various tactical markings, unit identification codes and possibly special camouflage used during specific operations. The F-15E Strike Eagle has distinctive features: two powerful engines with rectangular exhaust nozzles, large vertical tail surfaces, robustm fuselage with space for fuel and avionics, and the ability to carry up to 11 tons of armament on external hangers and in semi-submerged stations. Typical armaments include GBU series precision-guided bombs, AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, AGM anti-ship and anti-surface missiles, and a variety of other systems. The colour scheme ranges from the classic grey camouflage to desert tones to darker variants for night operations.
