1/48 South American Mirage IIIE/V

The Dassault Mirage IIIE and Mirage V are among the most important export versions of the legendary French Mirage III fighter aircraft. The IIIE variant was a multirole version equipped with modern avionics and the ability to attack ground targetswhile the Mirage V was a simpler and cheaper type primarily aimed at combat missions. Both machines became very successful export items and found their way to South America, where they were deployed in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru.

In the South American air forces, the Mirage IIIE/V has formed the backbone of fighter and attack units since the 1970s and has actively participated in many military operations and crises in the region. Argentina deployed its Mirage during the Falklands War in 1982, while Chile and Peru used the machines to ensure air supremacy during periods of tension between the two countries. With a combination of high speed, reliability and ease of maintenance, the Mirage has remained in service for decades and has become a symbol of South American military aviation.
