1/48 Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 part 2 - Swan song of the Messerschmitts
ASK 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 part 2 “Swan song of the Messerschmitts” is a decal sheet for five Bf 109K-4s from spring 1945, including a Stab I./JG 52 aircraft from Deutsch Brod.
This 1/48 ASK decal sheet offers five Bf 109K-4 marking options from the last weeks of the war: “White 12” of 9./JG 3 at Pasewalk (March 1945), “White 16” with a blue fuselage band of 9./JG 53 at Lechfeld (May 1945), “White 5” of the night fighter Gruppe I./NJG 11 at Leck (May 1945), a Stab I./JG 52 aircraft with command chevron from the airfield near Deutsch Brod (now Havlíčkův Brod, May 1945) and “Yellow 4”, W.Nr. 334210, of Hans Strebel, 11./JG 3, Pasewalk (spring 1945).
I./JG 52 was commanded from February 1945 by Erich Hartmann; in April 1945 the Gruppe moved to an airfield south-west of Deutsch Brod, where it destroyed its remaining aircraft at the end of the war. The Bf 109K-4 was the last production version of the Bf 109 in the Second World War. Part 1 of the series is 200-D48057. If necessary, the decal carrier varnish can be removed by washing it off with Zippo lighter fluid.
