1/48 Gloster Meteor F.8 one-sided express fit mask for Airfix
ASK mask in 1/48 scale for the Gloster Meteor F.8 from Airfix, made in a one-sided Express Fit version. It covers the cockpit glazing of the jet fighter from the outside, and the sheet also has round masks.
This set is ASK's own design, shaped to the clear parts of the Airfix Gloster Meteor F.8 kit in 1/48 scale. The sheet of set 200-M48264 from the SCALE MASK range contains three shaped masks 1–3, four curved outline strips 4–7, two round masks 8, two small round masks and four round masks 10.
The Meteor F.8 was a modernised F.4: the fuselage was lengthened by 76 cm, and the aircraft received the tail of the abortive G 42 fighter, uprated Derwent 8 engines, a Martin-Baker ejection seat and a blown teardrop canopy with better visibility. The RAF took its first F.8s in August 1949, and from 1950 to 1955 the type was the mainstay of Fighter Command. The double-sided version is 200-M48265.
