Vallejo Wash FX 76518 Black Color (35 ml)

Vallejo Wash FX 76518 Black (35 ml) is a Vallejo Wash FX acrylic wash in black. It is designed to highlight panel lines, rivets, seams, creases, and fine details on light, gray, black, and metallic surfaces.

Apply the wash to seams, panel lines, and around raised details. Thanks to its capillary action, it will spread into recesses; remove excess with a clean, damp brush or cotton swab, depending on the desired intensity.

Technical Information and Recommendations

• Type: water-based acrylic wash with a matte finish
• Volume: 35 ml
• Uses: panel lines, rivets, joints, shadows, dust, rust, grime, and operational patina
• Application: fine brush, spot application into joints, or a thin layer as a filter
• Surface: Best controlled on a satin or glossier surface; absorbs more on a matte surface
• Adjusting intensity: clean, damp brush; water; or, use Airbrush Thinner 71161 sparingly
• Previous layers: Model Color, Model Air, or Surface Primer
• Additional patina: Weathering FX, pigments, and Diorama FX
• Sealing: matte varnish or satin varnish depending on the desired finish
• Tools: model-making brushes

It is best to apply the wash in stages. A single thick layer often creates streaks, while multiple thinner layers allow for better control over contrast, dirt, and the resulting depth of detail. For a cleaner finish, it is advisable to protect the model with a satin or gloss varnish before applying the wash.
