Vallejo Wash FX 76506 Rust Color (35 ml)

Vallejo Wash FX 76506 Rust (35 ml) is an acrylic wash from Vallejo Wash FX in a rust finish. It is suitable for highlighting rusty joints, welds, screws, damaged edges, exhausts, and areas where oxidation and dirt naturally accumulate.

Apply the wash targetedly into joints, around screws, welds, and areas with damaged paint. For realistic rust, combine multiple shades from light to dark and gently remove excess with a clean, damp brush.

Technical Information and Recommendations

• Type: Water-based acrylic wash with a matte finish
• Volume: 35 ml
• Use: Panel lines, rivets, joints, shadows, dust, rust, dirt, and operational patina
• Application: Fine brush, local application into joints, or a thin layer as a filter
• Surface: Best controlled on a satin or glossier surface; it soaks in more on a matte surface
• Intensity Adjustment: Clean damp brush, water, or carefully with Airbrush Thinner 71161
• Previous Layers: Model Color, Model Air, or Surface Primer
• Further Patina: Weathering FX, pigments, and Diorama FX
• Fixing: matte varnish or satin varnish depending on the desired finish
• Tools: modeling brushes

It is better to use the wash gradually. One thick layer often creates blotches, while multiple thin layers allow for better control of contrast, dirt, and the final depth of details. For cleaner work, it is advisable to protect the model with a satin or gloss varnish before applying the wash.
