The Tornado is one of NATO’s most successful and versatile weapon systems and has proven itself in numerous combat missions. At the start of each battle, RAF Tornados, equipped with ALARM missiles, join forces with other allied aircraft to carry out their high-risk air defense missions in enemy airspace. They are followed by other Tornado units, which can safely fly in and carry out precision bombing attacks on enemy positions. With their large 2,250-liter auxiliary fuel tanks, RAF Tornados also have an extremely long range. The maximum speed is 2,338 km/h at 10,975 m.
