The Ju 88 was the most versatile German fighter aircraft of World War II. Production began in 1939 with the Ju 88A-1 model. In early August 1940, the Germans launched an offensive against British territory. However, on August 15, the British changed their tactics, significantly reducing the success rate of Luftwaffe pilots, until the situation finally turned completely around on September 15.
